The bgm that sounds in the remake of Green Hill sounds like a remix that tries to resemble to the original sound, with those sounds that are very similar to the "midi" sounds of Megadrive/Genesis.
If we want to "move" Sonic 1 to the HD level, the sounds should be with HD instruments, not with a HQ midi with some HD additions, like that remix fom Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
I repeat, I think that the remake that Bkron posted is the perfect kind of music that a good Sonic 1 HD should have.

In reference to music, I have always had the idea of doing a couple of soundtracks for the game, one faithful to the original soundtrack, and another thing. So the user could choose between them.
Hola compañeros!
Estoy un poco mas atareado de lo que me esperaba con mis estudios, aún así sacaré el tiempo de debajo de las piedras para poder continuar con el proyecto.
I like to do the music and draw some vector images.
EDIT:
Here are some music:
Green Hill http://www.goear.com... ... j-fast-mix)
Marble Zone http://www.goear.com... ... j-fast-mix)
Labyrinth http://www.goear.com... ... e-(dj-fast)
Star Light http://www.goear.com... ... j-fast-mix)
Scrap Brain http://www.goear.com... ... j-fast-mix)

So, you would like something more like this?
Still for testing styles and learning how to use FL studio.

I read some tutorials at Sonic Retro about the blending tool and I decided to give it a try.
Definitely, in Illustrator looks way cleaner than my previous Photoshop test

I was bored
I think some kind of texture should be added, because right now they look pretty dull

Yes, the three first look like too much "clean", and their 16-bit versions seem to have some kind of stone detail. Good work.
But... Is this project alive? No updates since august...
